What To Expect

On your first visit a wellness assessment will be completed
and may include the following:

  • Identifying what you want out of your session which may include any short or long term goals for your wellness care
  • Review of your health intake form to identify the following:
    • Pain patterns, type of pain, and pain intensity of symptom(s)
    • What might have triggered the problem, as well as how long and how often the problem has been occurring
    • What aggravates or relieves the problem(s)
  • Subsequent sessions will include a quick update to review any changes since the last session
  • Stretching, stress reduction, or body-awareness exercises may be offered and will be included as part of your session time
Will the client be clothed or unclothed for massage and
bodywork sessions and will lotions
or oils be used?

  • For Ortho-Bionomy sessions, the client is fully clothed; please wear flexible clothing that will allow your limbs and torso freedom of movement
  • For Swedish, Sports Massage, and Trigger Point Therapy sessions, lotion may be used with the client unclothed but draped to ensure the client’s privacy and to create a comfortable atmosphere
  • Most important, always feel free to provide constructive feedback during your session regarding the level of comfort. If I receive feedback regarding a positive experience during a session I can note that for future sessions. Likewise, if I receive feedback during the session for something that is uncomfortable I can make a change during the session as well as note it for future sessions.
Before and after your session

  • Try not to schedule a session just after or just before a large meal as it may affect your ability to relax
  • Please remove jewelry, glasses, hard contact lenses, and turn off pagers and cell phones
  • Try and schedule an easy day or evening after your appointment to enjoy the benefits you gained in your session!
